Toronto International Festival of Authors presents Alex Leslie, author of We All Need to Eat. Also with Alicia Giménez-Bartlett and Sayaka Murata. Moderated Susan G. Cole and hosted by Danila Botha.

Societal relationships and the status of women in today’s world is the hot topic of this meeting of minds. Giménez-Bartlett’s Naked Men exposes the ways in which life’s disappointments can make people do strange things. Leslie’s We All Need to Eat chronicles a woman’s attempts to come to grips with herself, her family and her sexuality. There will be an interpreter onstage with Japanese author Murata, who won the prestigious Akutagawa Prize for Convenience Store Woman, which takes a hard look at Japanese society and the pressure to conform.
