BookThug’s weekly roundup brings together workshops, events, readings, and deadlines happening (Friday to Friday) in the GTA. This, our first weekly roundup, also features some special events for Thursday, October 10.

  • Deadline: Puritan Magazine’s Second Annual Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence | Fiction up to 12,000 words, poetry up to 3 pages | $10 entry fee
  • Dinner Party With the Poets | 6:30 p.m. | Grano Restaurant, 2035 Yonge Street | Have you ever wanted to attend a dinner party with some of Toronto’s most innovative poets? Share a glass of prosecco and debate the merits of lyric poetry or the perfect line break? Diaspora Dialogues would like to invite you to be a guest at the Poet’s Dinner Party, a special intimate dinner series featuring readings, performances and moderated conversations with some of the city’s most creative people | $50, registration required
